Apologies that this is a rather late thread, it's been a very busy last month or so since I start changing a bunch of things. I'm hoping there haven't been too many issues that have risen up in that time frame. :(

I've outlined the changes that have been made below; some of subtle and some aren't. I'm hoping everyone can use this thread to provide me feedback on anything they like or don't like. Additionally, feel free to use this thread to rant about anything.

    Infrastructure Changes
    • Migrated from Web Hosting - The web-host we were using was doing some things to my email's which I didn't agree with, and we couldn't come to a resolution that I was satisfied with. Actually, it turns out most web hosts are running this policy which I took issue. So, I decided I had enough of paying people to have limited control over everything and bought a Raspberry Pi to setup the site at my own house. Although it was a lot of initial setup to get web, mail, and database up and running while remaining secure I think it'll be worth it in the long run as I'll have better control over how things are deployed.
    • Added SSL Certificate - This came in conjunction with the extra control I get for running my own server; in short DH is now running SSL encryption for all traffic. (You may have noticed that the site now uses https:// instead of http://). From now on any data you send to DH encrypted (e.g. passwords, posts, etc.) so that any man-in-the-middle cannot intercept the data. There shouldn't be any noticeable impact to anyone unless the SSL certificate expires, and at that point your browser MAY warn you about the security risks. I'm hoping to keep the SSL certificate up-to-date but you know how things go :)
    Forum Changes
    • Data Reorganization - After doing a bit of thinking, I cam to the realization that the site really wasn't very new-person friendly. There was a lot of "front-page" data getting in the way of what DH really shines with, community and RPing. So, I took some time and consolidated many of the different boards' posts into the main non-RP forum. The reality is that there were a number of boards that hadn't had any activity in almost 2 years; in short we don't really need dedicated boards for threads that are dead. I know this can come as a shock, please take some time and really think if you hate it before complaining as change is always difficult but I think it's for the better since we really don't have such wildly varying content.
    • Sidebar/Chatbox - Something I believe many people may appreciate is having the chatbox on more than just the forum home page. So, with a few data formatting tweaks within the box; and some behind-the-scenes magic, I'm now able to get it in more than just the home location. That said, I have to specify all the different areas individually to add the floating sidebar so let me know if you find an area of the site that doesn't have it and you would like it; it shouldn't be too hard to add it there.
Can't think of anything else of the top of my head, let me know if there are any questions on what I listed above!

Speaking of sidebars... it seems to be rather aggressive @ home.
    Location: https://dhaven.org/index.php
Issue: When scrolling lower on the page, the sidebar takes full width and renders over everything.
    Pixs or it didn't happen:
This looks happy. The birds are chirping.

If I scroll-wheel down one more tick, though...

The sidebar becomes angry... and I don't like it when it is angry. >.>

    Edit: More sidebar opinions!
Currently, I can't actually view the bottom of the chat window without scrolling to the end of the page where the container shoves the sidebar up. This greatly limits the chat room's functionality. :(
    Pics:
Midway down page. Bottom of chatroom is cut off.

Near the bottom, it is slid into view.

This all may be a resolution issue, but it should be possible to resize the chat's height to fit into the space it has dynamically.

For the first part, what browser are you using?

For the second part, that definitely is a resolution issue, as I can simulate the effect but resizing my window to a shorter height. Dynamically re-sizing the chatbox is tricky due to the Xenforo backend...I'll have to look into some other possible options...

    ...Double post: Bad me...

I updated to just show the Chatroom as part of the vertical scrolling. The original intent was to have the members online now update dynamically, but it appears to be a bit too difficult for not much benefit. With that being the case, the Chatroom is really the only thing that changes real-time so it should probably be the only thing that scrolls with you :)

Note that this quite possibly fixed your first issue too, lemme know!

    Chrome @ 2560 x 1080

Also, that did fix the sad chatroom issue! :D

But also... it fixed the issue @ index.php o.0 Maybe? I can't recreate it, anyways. >.>

Is there some way to fix the auto scroll on the chat box? Not sure if it's an issue for anyone else but I've noticed in the past and recently when going back to follow the thread of conversation that it LOVES to automatically scroll to the bottom because your not if you haven't done anything for more than a second or two which can be less than the time it takes to read some conversations. I don't mind it jumping to the end when I'm already at the end and someone says something or a post notification is made but if your trying to figure out what's been said while you were looking away it's trouble some to constantly have to jiggle the scroll bar up or down to keep it from resetting.

Ah, I know what you're talking about!!! It drives me insane.

I'll look into it, but my gut tells me that it's not going to be possible without completely replacing the add-on entirely...though I'm not sure why my gut is saying this...
