Elucio frowned slightly at hearing that Leon had gotten in trouble. Again. "Honestly, Leon. You get on to me for being clumsy when you've already gotten in troube for today!" she shook her head and stuck her tongue out at him playfully. At least Bran was here to make sure he didn't get in trouble before they left.

Before too long Garrett and Celeste arrived and she smiled at them. She watched as they went over translations and Elucio shook her head and sat down on a atble, watching. It was kind of fun to watch, especially with Garrett talking(she really liked his accent) and with Celeste(whom she liked since she was super smart) working to help. She bounced up and went over behind Garrett's shoulder.

"I don't think it looks like that." she said, glancing over his side. "But, this does sound familiar. I'm not sure why."

Lucian sat on top of the roof of a small shed, his brown hair tied in a tail waving over his shoulder because of the fresh wind. He leaned on his wooden oak bow, his soft brown eyes watching Celeste from a distance. A soft smile appeared on his handsome face as her arrow hit the target. He didn't go near her, because he knew she appreciated the peace and quiet as much as he did from time to time. He was to be found here a lot, and saw Celeste here a lot as well. They didn't talk much, except for the common greetings, and that's just how Lucian liked it.

He respected and liked Celeste not just because of her intelligence, but also her keen eye and perfect shot. Lucian had worked hard since that faithful day he missed his shot that could have saved his father's life, and he blamed himself until this day. From that day on, he swore never to miss a target ever again, and finally got to the point of making that happen. Celeste was the only one that could match his shots in these parts, which made it more fun for Lucian, having the push to get better at it.

The cold wind passed by and Lucian shivered, still enjoying the scent of fresh grass. When he saw Celeste packing her stuff and walking to the building, he was woken from his daydreaming and jumped down the shed, landing smoothly on the sandy ground. His boots left prints in it as he put his arm through the bow and the string, hanging it on his shoulder as he also proceeded towards the building.

He made it in half a minute later, finding the room to occupied rather densely. He smiled wide as he saw most of the people he knew and loved, giving a nod. "Hey guys." he simply said, looking around to see if they had started with getting more information what exactly this was about.

He saw Garrett and grinned, giving a short wave with his hand. He also give a nod to Elucio, happy to see her. Especially after they broke up, which just happened for no specific reason, he was glad they remained on good terms. He had seen cases worses where the ex girlfriend would slap a classmate of his named Jeremy in the face for dumping her. He felt glad he had friends like these, or at least, classmates. They were good people and he had begun considering them family after all this time.

His soft brown eyes turned to Bran, curious to hear more about what was going on.

"You bet, love," Leon responded to Celeste just as Elucio was getting on him again, "I'm not clumsy though. I just happen to have a few accidents here and there and the teachers are never happy with me about it. I never get hurt though, I'm too lucky for that." He looked up as he noticed Lucian enter, "Yo, Lucian, glad to see you made it. Looks like we've got a nice little party going for this endeavor of ours." He snagged a quick peek at Garrett's research before shaking his head. Translating had never been his strong suit. He recognized maybe three or four of the symbols on the page before he was forced to look away. The words hurt his eyes. "What is that anyways? Is it about the shard we're going to end up?"

"'N just what's got you in suchuh pleasant mood, eh?" Garrett questioned as he noticed Elucio's smile, raising a brow as his gaze narrowed in her direction with mock suspicion, "Grinnin' o'er durr like a tick on a dawg's backside, ya'll gettin' me mo' nerrvus dana whore'n church."

He paused as she came up behind him and Bran, glancing between her and the parchment before them before picking it up from the desk and angling it so she could have a better view.

"Ya seen dees befo'?" He asked interestedly in regard to the bizarre symbols, maneuvering himself so that he was examining the document side-by-side with Elucio, "Waddya make've'em?"

He looked up from the parchment again when Leon spoke, glancing to his partner-in-crime while biting gently at the inside of his cheek.

"I just done toldja it's a whole messa chicken scratch, da dawggon syntax's scarce azah hen's teeth," He mumbled in reply to his question, looking up from the manuscript yet again as Lucian entered. He returned the newcomer's smile, grinning as he gave his fellow graduate a nod, "'Ell lookit wut da cat gon' mauled'n dragged in, shake da molasses outta' yer britches'n 'elp me make suma sense outta dis'ear mess. Deus woke up late as usual. He had been up late that night trying to figure out a device he saw locked up. Not being allowed to see a device always made him wonder what it did.

Remebering what Bran had said during his speach Deus threw his clothes on and packed a backpack. He started meandering to the meeting place late but showed no sign of haste. When he finally got there he saw a crowd of people and was rather suprised, he had expect very few people.

Deus saw Elucio and wlked over to her "I didn't expected you to be here, thats a nice suprise." He waited for no responce and looked around. "I'd say sorry I'm late but ya'll know by now I usually am. What I miss?" Bran quickly gave Deus the basics of what happened.

Deus looked over Garrett's shoulder to see the parchment. "I've seen this writing before. It was on one of the devices the Library has. Of course I can't read it and I was not allowed to touch the device either."Dues stated " But Celesteis right about the fort. Mon can refer to single or human, note i could be wrong on that though. Ian Vito Goralim Monheim, strange wording for sure."

"Also, Bran you said you got some devices? Did you get the one I usually fiddled with?" Deus was refering to a small device that fit inside his hand that allowed the user to make small spheres about 3 inches in size out of most loose materials. Having no practical or dangeruos applications to itself it was one of the few devices Deus was allowed to fiddle with.

Lucian put a hand on Garrett's shoulder, taking the parchment to inspect it for a moment. Immediately he recognized most runes on there, as languages was something he was very interested in. "Hm. Definitely some directions of some sort. I could translate this, given the time." he said, looking at Bran, then to Deus who had entered. He looked back to the parchment again, thinking as he nodded slowly.

He had heard about the assignment they were about to partake, but never expected so many people to come along. Lucian hoped there would be some kind of plan and not some reckless journey, because from what he understood, it was going to be dangerous. He looked around the group, some laughing and saying something, some looking at the parchment.

He'd hate for any of them to get hurt. Handing the parchment to the next person that wanted to read it, he put a hand on his trusted bow. That was one of the reasons he would come along, to help out and make sure they would be safe. He didn't care much for any 'seeds' or whatever they were meant to find.

Celeste looked at the others as they attempted to help Garrett. She tilted her head slightly, an eyebrow creasing ever so slightly.

Why help him, she thought, when he had enough capacity to do it himself?

She chose a distant spot to gaze out of a window, placing her books purposefully on a table before her, folding her arms to warm them with her hands. She was hurt, but would say nothing on the matter. She was not about to decide one's capabilities, let alone speak them. It was their problem. Looking aside, she saw that the parchment was being held out for another to read.

She reached out and deftly took it, her blue eyes scanning over the paper cautiously and carefully. It had taken her a few reads, but she eventually shook her head, passing it across the table for the next hand to retrieve it. There was only so much one could glean from the words – and with a genius in the room, who needed a translator? Celeste resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

Instead, they travelled past her glasses and towards Bran as she raised her head proudly, if not a little impatiently, expecting an explanation before turning once more towards the window, taking off her glasses and pinching the bridge of her nose, as if that would dull down her impending headache.

Bran shook his head to all the questions.
"Honestly I'm not sure what that parts for if it's a description of the seeds or where they are kept I can't tell. Some of the information says the seeds are relics, but how they are supposed to fix the world is still a mystery." He gestured towards the portal. As far as he was concerned the group was a lot bigger than he'd ever expected, he knew Leon would come, and probably Elucio, Deus was a give away since it meant he might find new things to tinker with. "We can always look at the notes later. We might as well get going soon." He opened the pack and removed the two relics he was given.
"This is all I could get the researchers to give me, they did imply that they might be willing to exchange some of the more harmless relics with me if I brought any new ones back. but at least we have a map and a translator. In the mean time though I have some information about someone that claims to have seen one of the world seeds. oh I also managed to get two of these." He pulled out two thick leather bound books with a picture of two earth shards connected by a tunnel stamped on the front. The books would be invaluable to them since they listed all the known shards and portal locations, detailing what portals went to which shards.
"For the time being I'll keep one Celeste would you mind keeping the other one?"

Garrett's brows furrowed in thought as he took the document back from Lucian, his eyes scanning the manuscript from top to bottom as he scratched curiously at the back of his head. His gaze narrowed in scrutiny as he took in the site of the bizarre symbols for a second time, the corners of his mouth turned slightly downward into a perplexed frown.

"Ian vito goralim monheim," He mumbled to himself yet again, stepping to the side as Bran produced the two tomes and offered one to Celeste, "Vesoo... vesu... vesu..."

"Bran, ya'll gotch'urselfa fiddlestick?" He questioned suddenly, looking to the older Inheritor before spotting what anyone else would have called a quill sitting on his desk, "Ah, we're knockin' on all cylinders naw."

Without any further adieu he resumed his work, tapping the tip of the feathered writing utensil down upon his tongue before beginning to scribble hurriedly upon the parchment before him.

"An' dis'ear spring chick'n nabs da vowel," He murmured, "Hogtie dat tilde, drag'em o'er here..."

Deus was loosing intrest on the paper quick, though it ment ways to new devices. He had noticed that Celesta seemed a little irritated if not a little down about the parchment. Deus his hand on Celesta's shoulder "Sometimes when a group is formed a leader is chosen and that person says where we go." He knew what he was saying wasn't going to change anything, it was more of making sure Celesta knew.

When Dues heard Brans response to all the questions he was asked he was a little suprised. He expected Bran to know more but since they were chasing stories he understood. He was also a little down becuase his device was locked up still. He wasn't too suprised since the Library was protective of the devices.

"Well, little one it seems like you'll be like a second leader for us."Dues stated and then kneeled down like a knight about to be knighted."Where to my Lady?" He said helf jokingly with a large grin for him on his face. Thinking to himself this must look odd to the other, seeing a tall man dressed in black and red kneeling before a little lady dressed in white and blue.

Celeste took the book mutely, nodding in acceptance to Bran (and with questioning), before gazing down at the leather-bound front with partial fascination, a hand sliding across the texture as her fingers danced carefully around the details imprinted upon it. She was about to open the book, but then noticed movement nearby and a hand on her shoulder, which she swiftly moved away before it could rest there. She took a deep breath, hugging the book closely to her as she shuffled nearer towards the table uncomfortably, playing the document with her other books.

Looking up again, she couldn’t help but frown slightly at Deus, kneeling on the ground before her. She folded her arms with vague awkwardness prevalent in her stance.

“Books denote no quality of leadership,” the blue-eyed albino said softly, raising a hand, as if to justify her point, “merely that one has been given to me with motives. Now stand up straight and don’t be so silly.”

Her eyebrows creased slightly, some embarrassment evident on her features before it relaxed and turned to Bran.

“May I ask where it is that you intend to take us?”

"I want to make sure I'm not the only one with an atlas, if we have to split up we can always give the other one to someone in the group. He flipped through the book as he awnsered Celeste.

"I was talking to old Falmot the other day. seems that someone an inheritor was guiding through the portals has been claiming to know where one of the world seed's is. Apparently the guy has stopped moving around and settled on a shard the locals are calling Ipslore, it's a modest shard, think he said it had about two hundred people on it, though it's mostly forest they live off the fruit that they harvest from the trees, said something about unusual planting habits too but that's not really important." He stopped as he found the right page in the book there were a few rough sketches of the shards layout and notations on where the portals could be found.

"Here it is , it's about three portals away, hm." He paused and flipped to the index at the back, "We can also do a short detour at one point, looks like Deus's home shard isn't far off the route if you want to stop in and see your folks?"

Dues got up, slightly disappointed he didn't get more of a rise out of Celeste or maybe a little smile but recieved niether. "The book doesn't give you the leadership positipon the trust of giving you the book does."

Dues brushed off his clothing and looked over to Bran."It usually means people find it strange enough to note so it might be slightly importiant." Dues lectured a little. "Being careful there is importiant when one does not know what to expect."

Snapping out of his lecture, Dues pondered a little. " Ixtli, it has been a long time since i've seen her, but i have nothing to do there really. If we have time stopping by would not be a bad thing, I think. If anything it would be a good place to rest if needed." Dues seemed more aggitated then usual when Bran asked about his shard.

Cloud held back, he was at least three arm-lengths from his nearest classmate. He half wanted to speak up, but his better self always won and he kept quiet. He would sigh, turn his head in a different direction and politely wait until everything was decided. He took a little interest in Bran’s question to Dues, but was more surprised by his answer: Weren’t they all trained to move on from family emotions? Or was it something that only Cloud was trained for?

He watched the only one he could call his friend, Leon, in the center of the crowd having yet still the time of his life. The two of them lived in different worlds, it amazed Cloud every time just seeing the vastness of their characters displayed like this.

Much like Cloud, Lucian waited for the decisions to be made. He felt at peace amongst these people, and didn't feel obligated to say something, as they were figuring it out. In groups, you always had people who wanted to take the reigns and guide and direct everyone, it was only natural. Lucian was not such a man, usually only in dangerous situations.

Once when he was younger, he was with a group of other young students in the nearby forests, picking fruits and taking notes of the various of wildlife over there. It was then they had come across poachers, who were killing rabbits and such. Lucian didn't know if they came from another shard or that they had lived here for a long time, but they had spotted the children and decided to take them for ransom. Two of them got taken as the three others, including Lucian, managed to escape.

The other two wanted to go back home and get help, but Lucian shook his head. "Running away is the worst thing you can do. You always have to try, because otherwise, what kind of person are you if you don't?" he said, speaking his mind. It was something that stuck since the day he and his family had to run from an insane family on his Home shard.

It was then that Lucian excelled in his leadership, planning out various traps as his classmates had listened with fear. But they had been determined because Lucian seemed to have been so sure of his plans. So they followed and did as Lucian said. At night, when all the traps had been set, Lucian used himself as bait, firing an arrow at one of the poachers from a distance, right in his butt. With an angry shout, all poacher stormed away from the fire they were around to catch Lucian. Only two were left behind to watch the two other kids they had taken hostage. Lucian darted between trees and bushes, letting himself be spotted in the dark only now and then. He ran exactly the way that was planned, trapping three of the poachers in the traps they had made. They wouldn't hold out long, but long enough for them to rescue the hostages.

Lucian had ran back, seeing the other two classmates he had been with, struggling to fight two of the poachers. It seemed their attack didn't go as planned, as they were still young, and the poachers grown man. Without a moment of hesitation, Lucian remained cool and put an arrow on his bow, pulling back the string. With a 'twong!' it shot forward, the arrow hitting one of the poachers in the side, who roared of pain. He turned and charged to attack Lucian, who calm put another arrow on his bow, and right before he could get near, the poacher got another arrow in his leg. He went down, and the remaining poacher was quickly taken down by the other two classmates, knocked unconscious.

They cut loose the captured classmates, and got the hell out.

Once upon coming back, they explained everything to the Headmaster, and the poachers were quickly taken down. Only those people there at that day had learned to respect Lucian and not be fooled by his peaceful and calm exterior, having seen the vicious look on his face when he had shot the poachers with his bow and him planning everything.

Blinking his eyes, he came back to the present day, paying attention to the people in the room. He smiled faintly, enjoying the conversations going on. The more people there were, the longer it would take for them to get ready and go. But Lucian was patient. He leaned against the wall behind him, his soft brown eyes going over the group with care.

"Mount'n fort? Nah, keep," Garrett continued to mumble, Bran's quill clutched firmly within the calloused grip of the translator's left hand as he continued to scribble furiously overtop of the symbols which were already strewn about the page before him. He paused suddenly, his brows furrowing slightly as he craned his head forward as if in disbelief of what he was reading.

"God's Hand," He murmured, his gaze narrowed as he ran his index finger slowly along the lines of text, biting gently upon the inside of his cheek.

    Well, this was certainly interesting.

"Bran," Garrett spoke up suddenly, glancing to the older Inheritor while gesturing for him to come with a backwards nod, "Come'n nab'uh gander o'dis."

Leon had nearly burst out laughing at Deus' antics but Cleste's quick answers cut him short. He peered at her questioningly, but shrugged it off, once again proving that the mood of a conversation was not something he was good at picking up. "A forest?" He said, looking at Bran, ignoring the others on accident, "Bran, this place's a forest? And the natives live in the trees? When can we go? Can we go now?" He looked at Garrett with a certain look in his eyes. Garrett would know the look very well. It was that excited look that Leon got every time he had a crazy idea. "Think about it Garrett," he said slyly, "The bets! Think about all the climbing we can do. I wonder if they'd let me swing from tree to tree."

"Wouldn't suggest it, from what Falmot said the locals are somewhat protective of the trees." He was reading through the translations Garrett had made. Pointing to a passage about the 'empty land of gates before the mountain' he raised an eyebrow. "What do you think it means by that?"

"Ya'll seem awful chipper 'bout duh whoopin' headed yer way," Garrett looked up from the manuscript to grin at Leon, "Sun don't shine on tha same dawg's tail all'ta time."

"This'll jar yer preserves," He spoke to Bran, looking back down at the line of text which the other Inheritor pointed out, "Takin' a shot in the dark 'ear, but I reckon it's tawkin' 'bout a intermediary shard, one dat gon' got connected to a whole slew'uh uddahs. Place don't sound none too friendly, though, Bran. Might be fixin' tuh come up a bad cloud."

Celeste looked up at this point, having listened in silence. She had given into temptation and opened the book, blowing softly against the pages to rid them of dust that had settled over the years of disuse. She adjusted her glasses and peered closely at each recorded shard before a slight smile appeared on her face.

The drawings were moving. As the shards of the world shifted, so too did the enchanted images upon the page. Flicking through the book further, she peered closer at one in particular – and her eyes seemed to soften for a few moments before shutting the book quickly and straightened, raising her head to overhear Bran and Garrett's discussion.

She leaned forward, as if to speak before shaking her head and looked away. The piece sounded allegory rather than literal, with the words each holding a significant metaphor. Possibility, struggle or discovery, perhaps. She began to list more in her head before she took a deep breath and restrained her urges, tending once more to the order of her books to help her think and allow the others to think for themselves.

They were to search for a legend? If a single shard could connect to many, the dangers were immense. Catastrophic, even. Was it worth risking lives – young ones at that – for a portal? The thought seemed unreal. Anything was possible. One could walk in and have their limbs separated or they could come out the back-end of a drifting shard...

Maybe they'd end up face-first before the Gods themselves – or worse, the other way around.

She pretended to stretch to stop an impulse of laughter from erupting and cleared her throat.
